General Rental Conditions

Take a moment to read our General Rental Conditions

Here you will find all the important information about bookings, insurance, fuel policies, and much more. We want your experience with Bissau Car to be pleasant and safe, so we have prepared these conditions clearly and transparently. Read them to travel worry-free and make the most of your adventure in Lanzarote.

Bookings made through Bissau Car include special prices and conditions, exclusively for online reservations. These conditions do not apply to bookings made by phone or directly at our offices.
When making a reservation, you will receive:

  1. A first email confirming receipt of your request.
  2. A second email accepting or denying the booking.

Payment is made exclusively at our offices when collecting the vehicle.
No payment is required on the website.

  • Driving licence: Valid in Spain, held for at least 11 months.
  • Minimum age: 20 years.
  • Taxes (IGIC) included.
  • Unlimited mileage.
  • Second driver at no extra cost.
  • Child seats and boosters (subject to availability).
  • Basic Mandatory Insurance with deductible (CDW):
    – Partial collision coverage (third-party damages).
    – Theft coverage (TP).


Note: For groups F, I, J, H, K, and L, a deposit equal to the deductible may be required.

  • Free Extra Coverage:
    – Includes wheels, rims, punctures, mirrors, windows, windscreens, headlights, taillights, and indicators.
    – Roadside assistance, tow truck, and replacement vehicle.

Note: Free extra coverage is void if damage occurs due to:

  • Carrying more passengers than allowed.
  • Lending the vehicle to unauthorized persons.
  • Driving off-road (beaches, dirt roads, ravines, etc.).
  • Parking in dangerous or prohibited areas.
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, fatigue, or illness.
  • Participating in races or sports activities.
  • Losing, breaking, or locking the keys inside the vehicle.
  • Refueling with the wrong type of fuel.
  • Standard pick-up location: Our Playa Blanca office.
  • Any different delivery location must be confirmed in advance via WhatsApp or email.
  • Deliveries at Lanzarote Airport:
    – €30: Off-base delivery.
    – €40: Delivery after 22:00 (late-night fee).

Fuel Policy: Full to Full – the vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel as delivered.

  • Smoking inside the vehicle is forbidden.
  • Taking the vehicle off Lanzarote without prior authorization is not allowed. If authorized for Fuerteventura, the vehicle must be returned in Lanzarote. Failure to comply will incur return costs charged to the customer.
  • Early returns: Unused rental days or extras will not be refunded.
  • Insurance and coverages are considered used once the vehicle is collected.
  • The vehicle must be returned at the agreed location and date. Any changes must be authorized by Bissau Car S.L.
  • Child seats and boosters: Free with online booking (subject to availability).
  • Forgotten items: Bissau Car S.L. is not responsible for items left in the vehicle.
  • Fines: The customer is responsible for any fines or penalties incurred during the rental period.
  • Accidents: In case of an accident, the renter must immediately notify Bissau Car S.L. and must not accept liability or agreements with the other party without Bissau Car S.L.’s consent.
We strive to provide the reserved model but cannot guarantee it unless explicitly stated as “guaranteed model.” If unavailable, a vehicle of the same or higher group will be provided at the same price.

Personal data provided will be treated as confidential and in accordance with current legislation.
